Tiffany Pearl Jewelry

March 31st, 2009

The pearl is a naturally perfect jewel that requires no cutting or polishing. As early as 3500 B.C., Middle Eastern and Asian societies treasured pearls as symbols of purity and feminine charm. In 19th century Europe, pearls were the favorite of royalty who valued them above all other gems. American women, too, were adored of the pearl’s opalescent splendor.
Pearl was then representing perfection, bringing an air of elegance and sophistication to the women who wear them.and Tiffany & Co., and in Tiffany Pearls, founded in 1837, has been internationally renowned as a purveyor of the finest pearls, the venerable institution’s longtime design director traces the dazzling history of pearl jewelry at Tiffany, from the mid-19th century to the present, including fascinating accounts of many of the world’s most famous pearls since the Renaissance.

Tiffany Pearls is lavishly illustrated with archival photographs, portraits of illustrious pearl lovers through the centuries (including Queen Elizabeth I; Catherine de Medici; Mary, Queen of Scots; and Mary Todd Lincoln), sketches and drawings of Tiffany’s signature designs, and photographs of their spectacular antique and contemporary pearl pieces. In addition, celebrities from Audrey Hepburn to Elizabeth Taylor, Christy Turlington, Naomi Watts, and Sarah Jessica Parker are pictured decked out in lavish Tiffany pearls.
Today Tiffany incorporates several kinds of pearls in its jewelry designs, including Akoya pearls from Japan, irregular-shaped keshi pearls, freshwater pearls, mabé pearls, and pearls from the South Seas. Farmed off the coastal shores of Australia, Tahiti and the Philippines, these luminous pearls are the largest and rarest of all pearls and can occur as white, black or golden. The warm water and large size of the mother oyster increases the nacre growth producing larger pearls, which can grow to 20 millimeters or the approximate size of a cherry. A Tiffany strand of luminous pearls from the South Seas, uniformly matched for size and color, is one of fashion’s signature statements of luxury and taste.

TAG Heuer Monaco 1969 Original Re-Edition Chronograph

March 30th, 2009

200903301efbc8d2

Quite simultaneously with Zenith’s 40th anniversary of its legendary El Primero chronograph movement, TAG Heuer created a new limited edition Monaco Chronograph watch in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its iconic Monaco watch.

The original Monaco watch was introduced in 1969 which then became the watch-choice of Steve McQueen for the legendary movie “Le Mans,” really famous among fans of cool race cars and motor racing. In “Le Mans,” Steve McQueen’s character Michael Delaney wears a blue-faced Monaco watch, immediately distinguished by the square shape of its case and streamed lines.

The timepiece will be available in a limited number of just 1,000 pieces. This is such a vibrant watch with its brushed and polished square case, its left-hand winding crown, and a brilliant blue dial that virtually pulls you right on to the racetrack. The blue dial is highlighted by red accents on the hour and minute hands, a distinctively red chronograph hand and horizontal diamond-tipped hour markers. The small seconds counter and the 30-minute counter are harmoniously positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock, while the hand-applied date window in polished steel is found at 6 o’clock.

Nowadays, Monaco watches enjoy increasing popularity among adventurous men passionate about motor racing.

Zenith New Vintage 1969 chronograph

March 30th, 2009

200903301efbc8d1
Remember I have mentioned about Zenith before? It is considered to be one of the oldest and watch manufacturing companies in the Swiss industry, and Swiss watches which also have a high fame in the world. We can say Zenith is one of the few watch companies with enough expertise to produce its own mechanical movements.

Now in order to celebrate its 40th anniversary of its legendary El Primero chronograph movement - the world’s first and only mechanical chronograph caliber capable of measuring independent time to 1/10th second - Swiss watchmaker Zenith will unveil a series of limited edition commemorative timepieces that span a range of the brand’s product line, including the Class, Port Royal, Chronomaster, and Defy collections. Scheduled for official introduction at Baselworld 2009, these Zenith 40th Anniversary watches display dials with a distinctive band and a shield that note the years 1969 through 2009.

The Zenith New Vintage 1969 “The Originals” watches are a distinctive highlight of the 40th Anniversary watch collection. The brushed stainless steel looks superb, particularly with the elegant polished edges that bring out the gleaming stalk-type chronograph pushers. The silvered dial is a unique combination of elegance and sport with its subtle sunburst finish, and contrasting blue subdial for the elapsed chronograph minutes. The two additional subdials, in black, are echoed nicely by the outer 60-minutes scale, and the tachymeter scale at the silvered edge of the dial brings out that essential element of speed so necessary for a classic sports chronograph. I couldn’t help but feel some nostalgic affection for the red central seconds hand, with its square luminous point.

March 26th, 2009

Though the world is still cloaked in economic gloom, Malaysian designer Faisol Abdullah is now creating the world’s most expensive dress decorated with 751 diamonds from Middle Eastern jeweler Mouawad. Are he confident that the desire to flaunt wealth has not quite been extinguished? Abdullah plans to debut the silk and taffeta evening gown, which features a central 70 carat pear-shaped diamond and is dubbed the “Nightingale of Kuala Lumpur” . Abdullah is rushing to finish the dress, dubbed the “Nightingale of Kuala Lumpur,” in time for the STYLO Fashion festival early next month in the Malaysian capital. Someone might thought it is frivolous and does not make sense at such a bad time for the economy. But we should admit one point the rich will keep on getting richer and buying such dresses while ordinary people like you and me can just watch and dream. That is the real world.

Crosses Jewelry Review

March 26th, 2009

200903264-1
Cross jewelry history can be dated long time ago, typically pendants, became durable popular and in fashion, It might had something to do with Madonna. At a time when wearing cross pendants was for the religious, Madonna came out draped in them or wearing a single, massive diamond cross pendant to red carpet events and the Grammys.
Today’s trendy crosses in jewelry is the maltese cross which design is based on crosses used since the First Crusade and was the symbol of Amalfi, a small Italian republic of the 11th century. A Maltese cross has 8 points points which symbolize the 8 chilvarous virtues of loyalty, piety, frankness, bravery, glory and honor, contempt of death, altruism to the sick and poor and respect for the church. The eight points of these Beaudry cross earrings here are very chic and on street-fashion. They are set with 0.34 carats of diamonds including on the diamond bail and are set in 18k white gold.

Tiffany 2009 Spring/Summer Ads

March 24th, 2009

200903242efbc8d1
I don’t know what is your feeling about this ad, to me, it is too precious while see Karen Elson carrying a baby in a motherly role. Tiffany includes the following words:
Hold on
To those fleeting moments
That matter most.
An important anniversary,
a proud accomplishment,
a new arrival.
A Tiffany celebration ring
captures your feelings,
for all time.

We assume ‘A New Arrival” is for this first ad. Does that mean that each other line will apply to a different model?Hope the baby doesn’t come free with purchase, though surely that would make that mom delighted. Karen, now, has come a long way to play mother hood. Back in 2000 she she appeared for Paper mag to celebrate the new year. More recently she attended PHI’s F/W 08 ad campaign, with coco Rocha.

About Atelier Minyon Jewelry

March 23rd, 2009

1
I believe until now, most people like me have very little knowledge with Atelier Minyon Jewelry . Why I choose it to say something, that is because I believe one he will overpass those big ones. Atelier Minyon Jewelry was named with the designer’s name who is a famous Turkish jewelry designer, now he opened a classy little shop in Soho, New York City, at 155 Spring Street with his amazing US partner Alp. If you have entered his small shop, you will find everything is elegant, bejeweled floral brooches to very exotic, bright yellow gold cuffs.Their jewelry is bold and inventive, while maintaining an elegant, family relic feel. I strongly suggest you have a look at his shop, you will love it.
