Alexis Bittar–The antique spirit new fashion in NewYork
In recent years, some stores recommend few fashion jewelry brands which are famous for vintage design, just like Les Nereides designed by archaize elements, Les Bijoux de Sophie from France, and Lulu Frost from NewYork which is famous for reproducing directly by antique material.
Going into the stores occassionally, when I see the familiar elements showing us by the modern colorific aspects, I’ll so glad just like come across the new babies acting as our old friends. Among these brands, I’m so excited to enjoy the works from the NewYork designer Alexis Bittar whose works coming into Taiwan recently. When I first see these marvelou works, I’m falling love into it soon.
Alexis Bittar was grown up in the NewYork City. When he was young, his parents always took him to visit antique markets, as well as collect and also auction these
antique decorations. He set up an antique market by his own when he was 10 yuars old. For these reasons, the elements of antique influenced him very much instead of something learent from his teachers. So Alexis Bittar’s works are more than fashion.
At first, Alexis Bittar was konwn throughtout the world for his series of Lucite decorations. Plastics decorations originally are at the top of the fashion jewelry. The Lucite jewelry with halo colour and lustre was popular among people in the 40s. But the Lucite from Alexis Bittar was quite different. He used an another way to show the feeling of colour. He shows the luster by hand with Lucite Materials. For the light refraction from different angles, the jewelry show us wonderful translucent colour.This courageous design made Alexis Bittar unique in this field.
